TEACHER TRAINING TRACK

Overview
To lead an introductory Day Workshop, or a Learnig Club, extra skills are needed over-and-above those needed by an Advanced Level Tutor working with individuals or couples - for example: the ability to give equal attention to each class member; the ability to respond constructively to questions or to use a 'car park' so that they can be re-visited but not ignored; the ability to keep to time on a schedule; the ability to be flexible with the schedule when necessary, and to re-visit later items not covered; the ability to identify people who are not engaging, and to manage those who would dominate a group with their personal issues; the ability to keep records of achievement on the dozen or more members of the learning community... and so on.
The Emotional Logic Tutor College provides opportunities to learn and practice these skills, by joining a Learning Club as an assistant in an apprentice-type approach, as well as joining special workshops in which you can practice on each other teaching actual 'sessions' with feedback.

National 'Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector' exams
To lead workshops and Learning Clubs, the leader and assistants should, as a minimum, be working towards a national teaching qualification. The 10-week 'Preparing to Teach... (PTLLS) is perfectly adequate, given the internal training we provide, and the educational basis that we give you to use Prof. Sylvia Downs' method. If you have the Certificate (CTLLS) or Diploma (DTLLS), then so much the better.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Any Teacher should become a member of the national 'Institute for Learning (IfL), so that they are aware of changes to the national expected standards for teaching. We also provide CPD through Annual Appraisal and occasional refresher courses. This is particularly relevant when the range of settings in which Emotional Logic is being used, and the styles of delivery in those settings, is continuously developing.

Franchising a Teaching Business
We can give you the freedom to develop new methods of delivery appropriate to settings that interest you by making a franchise contract with you. This ensures that the core connections of ideas that make Emotional Logic effective remain consistently taught, while the language and presentations can vary enormously - for example the delivery to a Primary School will be completely different to a class of business managers, but the core ideas will be identical.
A Franchised Teacher should be able to supervise others in their own teaching network. The Emotional Logic Centre business manager will work in partnership with the Emotional Logic Tutor College to support your extra training to Supervisor status, which will include attending a nationally recognised course.
