Leading a Learning Club requires extra skills to be a teacher who is flexible enough to ensure each person present receives equal attention, at the right level for their learning needs. It is a definite step on, or sideways, from being a Personal Tutor working in depth with one or two learners. To be a Teacher of Emotional Logic, you have to gain experience first as a Personal Tutor, so that you know the sorts of questions people have at the back of their minds before they hesitate to ask in a group!
We provide opportunities to assist in Learning Clubs and Day Workshops, with additional training 'group sessions' at which potential teachers role play and practice teaching. You will practice teaching Emotional Logic in ways consistent with the 'Clearly MUD' model of Lifelong Learning, and learn the reasons behind the recommended sequence for teaching, both for a day workshop and for the twelve, weekly, one and a half-hour sessions of a Learning Club.
If you do not have a natioanlly approved teaching qualification, we will ask you to join a 'Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector' (PTLLS) course, and ask you to join the Institute for Learning so that you are part of the national Continuing Professional Development scheme for teachers.
Because you will already be an Approved Emotional Logic Tutor, you will be covered by our Professional Indemnity Insurance as a teacher, which requires that you join our Annual Appraisal scheme for internal Continuing Professional Development.
